SP package, part 2. The pictures

As I opened the box, I see this reusable bag.. it's the perfect size for lunches and stuff.

I'm currently wondering what is so colorful....

So I pull it out and find 250gm of bulky weight yarn. Not something I probably would have picked to spin myself, but the idea of a hat just keeps running through my head. I do love the colors.

Next up is apparently some of my pal's homespun.. but she forgot to label it. Nice to know I'm not the only one who forgets to label stuff. I'll have to run this through the yardage meter that my sister got me for Hanukkah last year.

Not only does she spin, but she makes spinning supplies. A close up view of the drop spindle she included in the package. It's a bottom whorl with no hook so I'm going to have to experiment with it but it seems to spin wonderfully.

There was also some tea and a great purple bag with tassels (!) to keep the drop spindle in. Thank you Courtney!

SP package

I'm starting to think that about half of my online shopping can be attributed to the fact that it is just so much fun to get mail that doesn't involve wasting paper or paying bills.

Even better, when said mail doesn't leave you feeling guilty for spending money you shouldn't have. If you haven't figured it out, I got my second swap package today. Shall we take a look?

Happy Birthday to me..

Well, not quite yet... BUT... mom and dad sent my present early so I could learn to use it well by Rhinebeck, so... I have a new camera!!!

Now that I'm not limited to my phone, this blog may become more active again.

Here are some of my first shots (all were done on the automatic setting):

You may notice a theme. My grandma asked for some new dish towels when we were on vacation but I had no cotton in my stash. A quick post on the knittyboard resulted in a large tyvek envelope full of worsted weight cotton and a suggestion for a pattern. A search on Ravelry provided the other two patterns. Hope Grandma likes them, this is the first time in six years she's ever asked me for something hand knit.

As you can see, the macro function works rather well on this camera. The great part is that I don't have to tell the camera to use it, if you get close enough to the object on the automatic setting, it will make the decision for you.
