Not much to say...

I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL!!!!

My weekend..

I can't believe I spent over nine hours in the car this weekend and didn't make it to a single yarn shop. I did drive to the DC area to spend some time with family.

Here's my little cousin... part of my visit was so his parents could get some time to themselves, and a full night's sleep. He's the cutest (okay, I'm biased), and one of the most engaging 15 month olds I've ever met!

Spent some time in DC playing tourist with a new friend. The umbrellas are there because it poured for the whole time we walked around. We decided that getting wet was better than waiting in a HUGE line at the Natural History Museum. Of course, as soon as I got back to the metro it stopped!

And on the list of stupid things..

This is the back of a package from the gem shop at the Smithsonian. Please read the bottom line in red that starts with WARNING, and explain to me WHY they needed to put that on there?????

Missing Pics..

So.. I finally got around to uploading some pictures...

My final CASP3 package. Note the pillows.. (they are HANDMADE), and I finally got my own dishcloth!!!

A close up of the back of the pillow.. (and my thumb)

Now.. there's only one little problem. My cats attacked this as I opened it, and I can't find the paper bag that had my SP's name on it... any help?

Next.. recycled sweater, complete with tag..

Wasn't as soft as I thought it should be.. maybe a good soak will do it some good. Not sure who is getting this one. Still debating if it should go into the gift bag or the Dulaan bag.

And finally, the one that _is_ going into the Dulaan bag (mostly because I don't know many kids)

One skein of the varigated got me three rows short of where you attach the sleeves. Came out quite nicely if I say so. Pattern from Ann Budd's book of Handy Sweater Patterns. Not sure I like how she does the neckline though.. might change that next time.

No pics...

Forgot my camera.. and forgot to upload the pics before I left..

On the knitting front:

3 skeins of Knit Picks WoTA bulky has now become a sweater for Dulaan, and two small balls of leftover green. I swear I took pics of it. The yarn was a gift from a SP, and knit up so much nicer than I expected. It was soft, not itchy and very springy. If I sound surprised... well, I was. I had previously used their dye-your-own in the worsted and found it to be itchy. I'm hoping there's enough green left over for a small hat to add to the bag. I think I'll send out the Dulaan stuff soon.

My Rogue is almost done, but I seem to have found an issue with the pattern that doesn't make sense to me. I'm at the shoulder, it says to do fourteen rows, decreasing every other row, but the stitch count is going from 27 to 22... I'll post that question on Knitty.

Mystery project #1 is in progess thanks to a 30% off your whole order coupon from Michael's.

I'm trying to be a good girl and work my way through some of my stash. My grandparents saw it when they came up to visit and well... grandpa thinks I should open a yarn shop and grandma thinks I spend too much money on this hobby.

Grad school interview on Wednesday. Just happens that there's a yarn shop closing that's right on my way into Philly.. wonder if that's a sign?
