We'll miss you...

Just a small part of what she gave to the knitting world.  Momma Monkey, I'll think of you every time I use them.

Don't ply when nervous

The singles have been sitting on the bobbin for well over six months now. I was afraid to ruin it, since I was having issues plying and I REALLY liked how the singles turned out. Plus, it was my first amount over 4 oz.

As you can see, I got a bit tighter in some places. Apparently plying when your mind is on your first day of clinical is a bad idea. Of course, knitting was a worse one and just sitting around being nervous is not helpful either.

0730 Tuesday morning. My first day of clinical. My first day in the role of a NP. Now granted, my preceptor probably won't even let me near a patient tomorrow, but still.

ETA:
Random wool roving from Rhinebeck 2006
8oz of roving (haven't weighed the yarn yet, and still have singles left)
Approx 162 and 154 yards/skein.

One week down

I'm not really counting how many more to go just yet....

First week of classes is now done! It was a review of x-rays, IV fluids, nutrition, reading EKGs, etc. Plus my normal pharm class. Now I know I'm getting old, my pharm prof is younger than I am.

I managed to fix my camera this afternoon, but it was dark by the time I finished.. so no new pics. All I needed was a new USB cable. (don't I feel like a dork)

For those of you out there with regular 9-5 M-F jobs.. OMG, I feel so sorry for you!!! Waking up for 9am class and not getting out till anywhere between 4-7 each day was HORRIBLE!!! I've even been going to bed before 10pm this week, and still I'm exhausted. I'm not sure what's going to be harder this semester, all the work I have to finish, or waking up early four days a week between clinical and classes.

Okay I lied...

There will be no further pictures of the needle case at this time. Seems sometime during my trip to Fairbanks I managed to break the LCD screen on my camera. No big deal, I hardly used it anyway, and the camera was still taking pictures and downloading to the computer just fine. Well, I pulled it out this morning, and while it still takes pictures, I'm having download issues. So without a card reader, I'm currently photo-less

Really late Hanukkah, not so late X-mas

My friend K and I decided to wait for our holiday exchange till I got up to Alaska. Shipping isn't cheap now a days. Best part.. we both made something for the other. I made her a pair of felted slippers, but she made me the BEST gift ever!!!

Kind of hard to see.. and not quite finished in this picture.. but she made me a custom designed case for my needles. The bright green pockets hold my 0-3 fixed circulars and the stripes hold my harmony needles and cables!!! I can fit all the needles I ever need in this case (mind you, not all the needles I own, but all the needles I need). I'm in love with my case. I'll take some better pictures soon.
